Dai Li’s sculptural ceramics are curiously quirky and inviting, focusing on the relationships between people, animals and everyday objects. Each piece is carefully hand build with an imbued personality that immediately catches your attention, causing you to pause and reflect.
Born in Sichuan, China, Dai Li now lives and works in Queensland. From 2005 to 2009 she attended the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in China and shortly after graduating moved to Australia. She has exhibited regularly since 2010 and in 2016 was a finalist in the prestigious Biennial North Queensland Ceramic Award. Her work can be seen in the collections of the Ipswich Art Gallery and Queensland University of Technology Art Museum.
