Brenda May Gallery launched Black Box Projects early last year to exhibit moving-image artworks in a commercial gallery, dedicating a theatrette to feature experimental mixed media works. "Screen Surface", curated by film and digital video artist Geoffrey Weary, is the latest in the series, exhibiting works that draw heavily on the video form to enhance the content or narrative, creating "highly personalised approaches to the treatment of the surface of the projected screen image". ...more
